Smart Hive Monitor

The Smart Hive Monitor measures and stores weight and temperature readings every 15 minutes. These readings are very precise and can measure even very slight changes in beehive weight. Hive monitors can be read either with a handheld device such a smartphone or remotely and automatically using a Data Collector.

Smart Data Collector

The B-ware™ Data Collector is the data information gateway to the Internet for monitoring your beehives remotely and automatically.

Mobile App

The Mobile APP connects your smartphone or tablet to your Smart Hive Monitors with reliable Bluetooth communications and give you access to the monitor data. After uploading the monitor data to your smartphone, the app can upload the same data to the Internet, if it is within cell tower range or do so on a delayed basis once it enters cell tower range.

WEB APP

After uploading the data to the internet you can log in to the Web App and use the features as well as generate reports.

Data Acquisition from hives

- The beehives from the apiary are placed on the Solutionbee beehive monitors. Their weight data is collected and stored regularly at the monitor level.
- A Solutionbee data collector device gathers all the data from the monitors under each hive.
- A communication network between monitors and collector ensures all data is securely transmitted.
- The collector transmits the data to the Internet. Users access the web app to analyze their beehives.

Information Management and Analytics

- Solutionbee system offers web based reports delivered in Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Safari.
- User can access a customizable dashboard for quick view of hive status and alarms. Daily, monthly, yearly reports based on weight data are available for a hive or groups of hives.
- The system offers alarm and error reporting.
- The system offers the benefit of individual hive localization in Google Maps.

Take a Tour

msEach monitored hive in the field contains a long-life battery-operated B-wareTM Smart Hive Monitor that is placed under each beehive. It continuously gathers the hive’s precise weight and ambient temperature. GPS positioning, data upload and instantaneous weight readings of individual monitors is possible manually using the B-wareTM Phone App. Each cluster of hives can also be locally networked to a single cellular data collection device for remote and automated monitor data readings. The B-wareTM Smart Data Collector, which operates on a solar-powered battery, collects hive statistics from the monitors under the hives and retransmits the data to the cloud. The Data Collector collects data from up to 100 beehive monitors in close proximity (within about 150 feet) and then transmits that data via cellular communications to a web server on the Internet.

Convenient for the beekeeper, the B-wareTM Monitoring System solution supports both local reporting in the apiary and remote reporting over the Internet. Alarms are generated at the Hive Monitors and are transmitted to the Data Collector. The alarms are immediately sent over the cellular network to the web server and/or via SMS text messages to the beekeeper.

mntThe primary element of the B-ware™ Beehive Monitoring System is the B-ware™ Smart Hive Monitor. The Smart Hive Monitor measures and stores weight and temperature readings every 15 minutes. These readings are very precise and can measure even very slight changes in beehive weight. Hive monitors can be read either with a handheld device such a smartphone or remotely using a B-wareTM Data Collector.

In the simplest implementation, individual monitors are read one-by-one with the B-ware™ Phone App loaded on your Android or iOS smartphone. A Bluetooth connection is easily established and the data is uploaded to the phone – and from there to the Internet if the smartphone is in cell tower range.

Alternatively, each Smart Hive Monitor can communicate directly with a B-ware™ Data Collector which automates the daily reading of the stored weight and temperature measurements in the monitor. This logged data is passed to the Data Collector twice a day. Alarms issued by the monitor are passed immediately to the Data Collector. From the Collector the data is read and sent to the Internet either directly using a smartphone, via Wi-Fi or via a cellular connection. Up to 100 Hive Monitors can be accessed by one Data Collector within a radius of 150ft (30m).

dtclThe B-ware™ Data Collector is the data information gateway to the Internet and your personal hand-held device such as your smartphone or tablet. Each Hive Monitor communicates with a B-ware™ Smart Data Collector which, in turn, passes the weight and temperature data of each hive to the Internet where it is accessible to you in easy to read graphs and tables. In remote areas without cellular coverage, the Data Collector can also be read by your hand-held device and later uploaded to the Internet when within cellular tower range.

The Data Collector assures that your connected Hive Monitors are within range and that hive tampering or other security concerns are sent to you via the Data Collector as alarms to your handheld device or email address.

apphThe B-ware™ Mobile App is a crucial tool in operating your B-ware Monitoring System. The app will connect your smartphone or other handheld device to your Smart Hive Monitors with reliable Bluetooth communications and give you access to the monitor data. After uploading the monitor data to your smartphone, the app can upload the same data to the Internet, if it is within cell tower range or do so on a delayed basis once it enters cell tower range.

This multifunctional tool has the following features:

Live Data: See the real-time weight of your hive and ambient temperature.

View Data: View your weight and temperature data on interactive graphs after uploading your monitor data.

Read New Data: Upload all new weight and temperature data since the last reading.

Upload Data: Upload your monitor data to the Internet so that it is viewable through your favorite browser.

Set GPS Location: Set the GPS location of your monitored hives.

Alerts: Set Alarm upper and lower limits.

The B-ware™ HiveHub™ communications gateway is a turnkey solution that enables remote and automatic monitoring of your beehive monitors and other sensors.

The flexible system architecture of the B-ware™ solution allows ready adaptation to future technology while maximizing the life of all assets deployed.
