First inspection

First inspection

The 1st inspection revealed a nice burr comb with eggs and larvae. No one was stung. The queen was not seen but hopefully the eggs are a good indication that she is around. With a full jar of sugar syrup the hive was closed back up.

The day after the hive was inspected, there was a first indication of the colony increasing weight by themselves possibly by bringing something, either pollen or nectar, into the hive (G).

First inspection

A… 4th sugar syrup jar
B… weight decline due to syrup consumption
C… 5th sugar syrup jar
D… weight decline due to syrup consumption
E… 1st hive inspection
F… 6th sugar syrup jar
G… 1st organic weight increase (pollen collection?)
